Best High Tea in Palm Beach : The Chesterfield Hotel

Going to high tea has been on my list for a while, and I finally got to experience it when I was down in FL. Do you guys remember having those mini tea sets & having pretend tea parties as kids? I definitely do. Any chance to dress up and “be a lady” — I’m in! My first ever high tea experience was at The Chesterfield Hotel, and I have to tell you, it was amazing! The Chesterfield is a boutique luxury hotel located on Palm Beach Island, not too far from the beach. Arriving at 363 Cocoanut Row, no need to worry about parking, valet has you covered!

You enter through large black iron gates to a gorgeous outdoor garden seating area. We opted to have our tea inside (per my aunts request) but I would absolutely go back again to experience dining in the tropical garden. With my Belizean heritage, and it’s British influence, we take our tea time pretty seriously. My aunt considers The Chesterfield to have a “proper english high tea” so I knew it was going to be good. The indoor dining area is Victorian themed, but with a modern twist. There are luxurious black leather chairs, rose print watercolor ceilings, and a leopard carpet.

The afternoon tea is $40 per person (plus tax & gratuity) available daily from 12pm-4pm, although you must make a reservation. Included is your own pot of tea, finger sandwiches, scones, macarons, eclairs, and other various pastries. I chose a pot of their mango tea which was absolutely delicious. It’s a loose black tea with hibiscus and rosebuds. I typically go for English Breakfast with milk & sugar, but this mango tea didn’t need anything at all–it was so good! Out of the finger sandwiches my faves were the cucumber and the ham and cheese. Our server was so lively and attentive. She even went out of her way to bring a plate of fresh fruit when she found out one of us couldn’t have dairy. (Pro tip: tell them in advance of any allergies when making a reservation and they’ll modify as much as they can for you.) The scones were delectable- buttery, freshly baked and served with a side of clotted cream and jam.

I cannot wait to go back to The Chesterfield next time I’m down in Florida. It was such a lovely activity, even my boyfriend who wouldn’t typically do something like this on his own said he wants to go again! If you’re down in Palm Beach, I definitely recommend!
